During the Edo period (XVI-XIX century) the printed and books illustrated with woodcuts technique, over 500 years were important sources for information dissemination and education in Japan, creating a communication revolution similar with the electronic media today . Today the classic book is on its way disappearing, artist book / book object is an artistic response opposite to the confusing media world and the rapidly production of information, with many images and symbols. Since 1997, Lucian Muntean is working as a photojournalist for newspapers, magazines and news agencies in Romania. Specialized in documentary photography and photo stories, Lucian Muntean is traveling and working on long term projects in Romania and Europe.
