Conceived as a response to a biennial theme that was rather theoretical, the installation was inspired by the desire to depict the world around us. Reminiscing on the subjects of cave paintings, the cutout animals are aligned so that the final, red monochrome space colors each shape. This optical play was based on the principle of stage design and so called cutout books – or tunnel-books. Food Chain is a comic storyline, a primal echo and an excise of spatial cuts.
