Now in its 7th year, the exhibit spotlights the traditionally and culturally rich land of Romania, interpreted in a series of scenes through the artwork of artists both old and new.
Through the various paintings, one can spot different strokes—that of the years of oppression under a dictatorship in Romania, the perplexed post-war landscape, and the mysticism of the urban world.
This travel through time is courtesy a line-up of handpicked artists from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, who interestingly bring about a dichotomy in regional influences and historical references.
The artists whose pieces have been chosen for the Romanian Scenes exhibit are: Ioana Batranu, Dan Beudean, Mihuț Boșcu Kafchin, Geta Bratescu, Simon Cantemir Hausi, Oana Farcas, Adrian Ghenie, Ion Grigorescu, Ciprian Muresan, Sergiu Toma, Mircea Suciu, Serban Savu and Bogdan Vladuta.
Louis Vuitton’s Romanian Scenes exhibit will be on display from 11 October to 12 January 2014, so we suggest you put it on your things-to-do list.
