Miercuri, 19 mai, ora 19, galeria Recycle Nest deschide publicului expoziţia personală a artistului Sorin Neamţu.

Marea Pată se pregăteşte ca o expoziţie vulnerabilă. „Toate neputinţele mele sunt la vedere” pare să spună autorul ei – în lucrările expuse, ca şi în volumul omonim expoziţiei, lansat în seara deschiderii şi semnat de acelaşi Sorin Neamţu.

Oferind în titlul expoziţiei sale o metaforă nebuloasă, Sorin Neamţu se expune ca un pictor în criză, gata să rişte integritatea propriei producţii artistice prin acţiuni menite să-i destabilizeze patternul creativ. În consecinţă, picturii masive şi monolitice pe care o practică în mod curent i se va opune interstiţiul; solidităţii şi evidenţei i se va juxtapune dubiul; modelului stabil şi incoruptibil îi va corespunde, de astă dată, exemplul fragmentar şi tranzitoriu.

Pe vremea cînd era în Celebrul animal, Neamţu mima naivitatea şi miza pe naivitate. Stupoarea pe care încerca s-o provoace era de fapt seducţie. Acum, Neamţu nu vrea să placă, nu caută complici şi intimitate, nu ştie să consoleze.

Toate întrebările şi răbufnirile artistului se vor înfăţişa, în Marea pată, deloc sau foarte puţin atenuate. Iar martorii acestor dubii, privitorul şi cititorul Marilor pete, se vor simţi poate agresaţi, brutalizaţi şi, nerecunoscînd nici un fel de îndreptăţire pedagogică, stupefiaţi.

Expoziţia va fi găzduită de galeria Recycle Nest până în data de 26 iunie.

SORIN NEAMŢU – THE GREAT BLOT

Wednesday, 19th May, at 7 pm, the Recycle Nest Gallery opens to the public the solo show of the artist Sorin Neamţu.

The Great Blot offers itself as a vulnerable exhibition. “All of my inabilities are at sight” seems to say its author – in the exhibited works, as in the homonymous volume, launched the evening of the exhibition and signed by the same Sorin Neamţu.

Offering a nebulous metaphor in the title of his exhibition, Sorin Neamţu exposes himself as a painter in crisis, ready to risk the integrity of his own artistic production through actions meant to make his creative pattern vulnerable. Consequently, the massive and monolithic painting he currently practices is opposed to interstice; solidity and evidence are juxtaposed to doubt; the stable and incorruptible model corresponds, this time, to the fragmentary and transitory example.

Back when he was part of The Famous Animal, Neamţu simulated naivety and relied on naivety. The stupefaction he tried to rouse was in fact seduction. Now, Neamţu does not want to be liked, he does not look for accomplices and intimacy, he does not know how to comfort.

In the Great Blot, all of the questions and outbreaks of the artist will appear, very little diminished or not at all. And the witnesses of these doubts, the onlooker and the reader of the Great Blots, might feel aggressed, brutalised and stupefied, not recognizing any pedagogical justification.

The exhibition will be housed by the Recycle Nest Gallery until 26th June. The media partners of the event are: Radio România Cultural, Observator Cultural magazine and Şapte Seri magazine.
