ARTROM Gallery has been sponsoring International Juried on-line Art Competitions since 2004. We have become well known for our constant and varied calendar of competitions, as well as the Winners’ Exhibitions which follow.
We invite photographers world-wide to submit entries to our current TOPTEN International Photography Competition entitled, “Split Second Impulse”. Photographers possess not only a sharpened capability to see moments, even intuit those about to arrive, but they have toned their ability to know how to make that split second decision which tells them that what they see is worth capturing. It’s an impelling force. This force or urge prompts an unpremeditated action that has created masterpieces and important historical documentation over the millenium.
SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE :: FEB. 28th, 2010
We are very pleased to announce the confirmation of Diego Mormorio, internationally known photography historian and critic, as the special juror for the TOPTEN Split Second Impulse International Photography Competition.
Diego Mormorio was born in Caracas to Sicilian parents. He has worked primarily with the relationship of photography to philosophical and literary culture. In recent years he has also developed a particular interest in the photographic rappresentation of beauty and nature.
Mormorio’s most recently published book, “Meditation and Photography” is a truly intriguing book in which he introduces and explores a complex and fascinating journey toward the discovery of an unusual perspective of conceiving the action of the photographic process; the line between zen and the art of photography.
