One of the major urban development projects of the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture Programme is the revival of Museum street, that gives place for several significant museums of the city.

Following the completion of the renovation works, the museum of one of the most widely known Pécs-born artists will reopen its gates to the public. The artworks of this great figure of op-art; Victor Vasarely can be viewed again from 21 May in Pécs.

The programme “Victor Vasarely – International Arts Application for Practising Arts in Public Squares” announced by:
András Horváth DDÉK president, leader of the ‘Architecture and Context’ programme Connected to the reopening of the Pécs Vasarely Museum an exhibition entitled „the Victor Vasarely effect” is organised. During the event the works of the students of PTE-MK (University of Pécs Faculty of Music and Visual Arts), and of Aix-en-Provence École Supérieure d’ Art will be displayed.
